Fauna has over 20 years as a licensed massage therapist and has been teaching yoga since 2010. Fauna always wants to learn from the source, leading her to travel to Mysore India, the home of ashtanga yoga to study with Sharath and Saraswati Jois, and into the cadaver lab with Dr. Gil Hedley to learn from the sacred canon of the human body.
Fauna teaches yoga anatomy with a special focus on the study of fascia, breath and how it’s all connected. She teaches dissection, and has even worked as an embalmer.
Fauna has been featured in the New York Times for her work at Experience Anatomy teaching cadaver anatomy to non traditional students.
Fauna is also one of the few Americans to dissect at the Plastinarium in Guben Germany, makers of the Body Worlds exhibition. Fauna was one of the lead dissectors for world's first full-body fascia focused plastinates, FR:EIA on permanent display at Body Worlds in Berlin, Germany.
When she’s not in the lab or in a classroom Fauna loves riding her bike, backyard birding, and creating ayurveda inspired meals in the kitchen. She is devoted to her two rescue kitties and one very energetic Aussie pup. Fauna loves traveling around the globe with her husband to study anatomy architecture, philosophy, and of course, yoga.
